Bangalore, Jan 9: Speaking to reporters at his home office 'Krishna' on Thursday January 8, chief minister B S Yeddyurappa expressed his anger over the centre’s cold-shouldering of two of the demands of the state, one about the setting up of the national security guards force in the city and other, about the sanctioning of an Indian Institute of Technology in the state.
"I had taken part in the meeting convened by the prime minister in New Delhi, with lot of expectations. But no important decisions were taken. No serious discussions took place about the terrorist activities that are playing havoc with the normal life in the country," Yeddyurappa said.
By not sanctioning the NSG unit to the city, the union government has laid bare its step-motherly attitude towards Karnataka. The above issues will be discussed in the next assembly session. If found necessary, a meeting of the state MPs will be convened to discuss the injustices being meted out to the state, he explained.
The chief minister also stated, that the government will be laying high emphasis on the augmentation of the power generation in the state during the next five years, by increasing power production by 5,000 mws. "On January 12, an agreement for the setting up of the ultra mega power plant in Koodagi in Bijapur district will be signed in the city," he revealed.
