Benglauru, Jan 21: Former Karnataka chief minister (CM), B S Yeddyurappa, predicted that the coalition government will collapse under its own weight and that his party will wait till this happens and use opportunities which this incident offers to them. Speaking to a Kannada television channel, he also did not confirm that all the sitting Lok Sabha members of the party will get party tickets in Lok Sabha election.
He said that the party's top brass has already conducted a survey about the winning candidates in Karnataka. "Although we hope that all the current Lok Sabha members will get party tickets, depending upon the contents of the report, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah might make changes which they might find necessary. in the list," he clarified.
On the question about the stay of BJP MLAs in a resort at Gurugram, Yeddyurappa said that the party chose to keep its MLAs together and hold discussions, as they got information when in New Delhi that the CM personally and also through Congress party, was contacting legislators and making offers to lure them into the coalition. On the charge of Kumaraswamy, Deve Gowda and Siddaramaiah against BJP of offering crores of rupees to defectors, he said that these leaders have been unable to hold their flock together and now trying to blame BJP. He also stressed that he is not in contact with any of the ruling legislators.
On whether it is true that BJP, with the support of independent MLAs and others, is trying to topple the government, he said he would be happy to be in the opposition. When questioned whether his party plans to move no confidence motion against the coalition, he said that depending on political situation, he would discuss with his party legislators and take a decision.
On the claim being made by his party men about he becoming chief minister of Karnataka shortly, Yeddyyrpapa said he would instruct his MLAs not to such statements like government will fall and he would become the chief minister.
About the declaration of candidates for Lok Sabha and preparations for it, he said that hunt is on for able and winning candidates and possibly the announcement of the candidates will be made during February second week.
