Udupi, Jan 4: It is learnt, that two youth named Tauseef (22) and Firoze (23) were taken into custody by the policemen belonging to Shimoga district with the help of the the Udupi police in the afternoon of Friday January 2, for their alleged links with terrorists.
The arrests were made from Someshwar near here. Both the arrested persons are close relatives. The police arrested them from the house said to be belonging to Tauseef. Tauseef, who reportedly, is a student. The Shimoga police, with help from the local policemen, had been collecting information by staying here since the last about a week.
Firoze is said to be not pursing any specific vocation. It is also reported that the policemen have taken the two into custody on the basis of suspicion and not on the basis of any material evidence. A few from Bhatkal, who were interrogated on the basis of information provided by a person named Maulala Shabbir, arrested from Gujarat, reportedly gave away the names of the two youth from Udupi.
