Beltangady, Jan 2: Judge of Beltangady civil court K Mahadev informed, that the civil suits filed between the year 2005 and 2008 will be heard in the newly opened court. He was speaking after inaugurating the newly formed additional civil court in the court complex here on Thursday January 1. The court has started functioning from yesterday.
"As the number of courts goes up, the suits get decided faster. The additional court has been set up with the specific objective of speedy justice. The existing court will try all other cases including the criminal ones, he clarified.
Sunil Hosamani, newly appointed judge of the additional civil court said, that delivery of justice becomes more efficient when both the judges and lawyers perform like the two sides of the same coin.
Bar Association president Nemiraj Shetty hoped that the government will soon sanction a separate building for the Bar Association. Senior advocates B Ramachandra Bhat, N J Kadamba and Bar Association vice president Mohammed Hanif were present at the dais. Secretary Shivkumar welcomed. Subrahmanya Kumar Kotrody proposed vote of thanks.
