Mangalore, Jan 2: Policemen from Surat in Gujarat have arrived in the city for the purpose of seeking the custody of the four terror-suspects lodged in the local sub-jail, for the purpose of investigating their possible links with the blasts in that state. The team of 10 policemen is now awaiting the court orders for taking the suspects with them to Surat.
The Surat police want to question Mohammed Ali from Mukkacheri and his son Javed Ali, Naushad from Pandeshwar Subhasnagar and Ahmed Bawa from Haleangady, who were arrested by the Karnataka and Mumbai police on October 3, on the suspicion of their involvement with several cases of bomb blasts. The Surat police reportedly possess information that these persons were also involved with the bomb blasts in Ahmedbad and Surat.
The suspects, who have already been interrogated by the policemen from Mangalore, Mumbai and Bangalore, will be taken away by the team once the court permits the body warrant application moved by them.
In the meanwhile, the city policemen are trying to collect information about the two suspected terrorists from Bhatkal, arrested by the Maharashtra police from Pune on December 30.
