Mangalore: Kadire Artistes to Stage Mythological Drama Week

Mangalore, Jan 1: The campaign to introduce the eminence of Tulu mythological drama will be held from Sunday January 4 to Saturday January 10.
The campaign is being organized by Kadire Artistes, Kadri.
The troupe will perform the drama ‘Kateelda Appe Ullaldhi’ in seven places in Maharashtra. The artistes will try to focus on the history of Kateel temple, the deity and her prowess, through the drama, said Niranjan Salian, secretary, Kadire Artistes, speaking at a press conference on Thursday January 1.
Ananta Asranna, chief priest, will inaugurate the first performance at Matunga on Monday January 4. Apart from this, other performances will be conducted at Mulund, Poona, Ghatkopar, Vasi, and Kalyan. Around 30 artistes will perform in the play, he said.
For the first time, the mythological drama artistes are going as a team. Porlu Arts will arrange drama stage settings whereas Lalitakala Arts will provide costumes required for the drama, said Kadri Navneet Shetty, organizer, Kadire Artistes.
Kishore D Shetty, chief convener, Jeevan Ullal, director, and Gokul Kadri, president, Kadire Artistes, were present at the press conference.
