Bangalore: 'Siddu's Sidelining Led to BJP Victory'

Bangalore, Dec 31: In the by-elections to the eight assembly constituencies in the State, if the victory for BJP was due to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappas pro-development stand, the miserable defeat of the Congress was because of Backward Class leader Siddaramaiah being sidelined, said legislator and Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board chairman Vartur R Prakash analysing the election results.  

He was addressing the reporters as soon as election results were announced here on Tuesday and said the people have voted for BJP realising that in the past six months it was focusing on development. Again the sympathy vote in favour of Siddaramaiah had gone to BJP, he added.

The Congress has no future in the State. If only they had taken Siddaramaih into confidence, the party would not have been in such a pathetic situation, he said and added that KPCC president R V Deshpande and working president D K Shivakumar who had owned moral responsibility for the defeat must resign.

The victory of the JD(S) candidate in Maddur was due to the internal understanding the BJP MLC Madhu Madegowda and Congress’ S M Krishna had with the JD(S), Prakash alleged.
 
 
Likewise in Madhugir and Turuvekere the JD(S) won because of money and muscle power and by violating the Election Code of Conduct, he said.

This result was a precursor to the coming Lok Sabha elections and if the pro-development Yeddyurappa and Backward Class leader Siddaramaih join hands, then all the 28 Lok Sabha  seats in the State will be BJP’s. Thus both the Congress and the JD(S) can be taught a fitting lesson, he said.

He also said that he would have a discussion with Siddaramaih and give a clear picture by January 14. 

Prakash expressed confidence that in spite of BJP getting a clear majority now, Yeddyurappa would continue to seek support from the independents.

    Varthur Prakash is 100% correct. Congress wants support of Siddaramaiah but does not want to give any post for backward class leaders. If Siddu leaves Congress, I am sure that the party is going to bite the soil. If Shiva Kumar and Deshpande are capable, they should have made the party to win by-polls. Why Siddaramaiah is required when you people are the party Presidents? Vokkaligas have supported enmass JD(S) in Maddur, Turuvekere and Madhugiri and why Shivakumar could not convert these votes for Congress as himself being a Vokkaliga? and why they should blame Siddaramaiah for their inefficiencies? It is very high time for Siddu, he should quit Congress and start new political party which cares for all sections of society and particulary neglected and upressed classes in the State. He is a capable mass leader with an alliance with BJP, they can win all 28 MP seats as said by Varthur Prakash. SIDDU, PEASE QUIT CONGRESS IN THE INTEREST OF MAJORITY OF THE STATE PEOPLE.     I think congress has to expell siddhu. The bad time for congress party is just because of such leaders.

    Using a social forum " Ahinda" to further ones political future and satisfy ones ego is what has happened. His political future is bleak. He has no other option but to join BJP now, where he will be relegated to the back bench.

    The Congress needs to realize that if at all they have to make an impact in the forth coming General Elections then they need to give Siddu a plum post. R.V Deshpande needs to take responsiblity and step down.....Just the other day on 25th a few days before the by elections he was seen at a wedding of a Big Politicians daughter in Mangalore having a gala time. Instead of concentrating on the grass root levels the congress is pretty content trying to show case its incompetent senior leadership. It needs to take a cue from the BJP and adopt their way of functioning it needs to make its presence felt among the youth and grass root level workers , activists which at the moment is practically NIL.

    Mr.Varthur Prakash is right. In Next general election BJP should fight with the help of Siddaramayya to get 28 seats. Need of the hour is to eradicate pseudo secularist congress & castiesm jds from Karnataka. KARNATAKA WILL COME UP IN ALL SECTORS LIKE AGRICULTURE,INDUSTRY,FISHERIES,IT & BT,TEXTILE,EXPORTS UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF MR.YEDIYURAPPA. HE WILL EMERGE LIKE MR. NARENDRA MODI OF GUJARATH.
