Udupi, Dec 28: Home Minister V.S. Acharya said on Saturday that the Government had released Rs. 5 crore for the repair of roads belonging to the Department of Fisheries.
He was speaking at janaspandana, organised by the district administration at Hebri village in Udupi district.
Dr. Acharya said that potholes on all the roads in the district, including national highways, had been filled up.
The people’s problems related to Revenue Department had been discussed with Revenue Minister G. Karunakara Reddy and they would be solved in a phased manner.
The Government had released Rs. 2.5 crore for the drinking water projects in Nitte and Hebri villages, he said.
Karkala MLA Gopal Bhandary said that no sites had been provided to the poor in Hebri region for the last four years and urged the Government to distribute sites to the eligible at the earliest.
In-charge Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Kumar, Assistant Commissioner K.N. Ramesh, zilla panchayat member Sunanda Kumar, president of Hebri gram panchayat Jayakar Poojary, and Karkala tahsildar Achyut were present.
Schemes
Dr. Acharya distributed cheques to the beneficiaries of various schemes, including Sandhya Suraksha and Bhagyalakshmi.
