Riyadh, Dec 27: Jazeel, a first year BBM degree student of the Alliance College, Bangalore, drowned in a lake near here during his brief visit to the gulf nation and breathed his last, on Tuesday December 23.
He was an ex-student of the International Indian School Riyadh (IISR). His father C M Kunhi is an employee of Arabian Food Supplies. While his mother is a house wife, sister Jawza is a student of IISR.
Kunhi is a native of Mogral Puttur in Kasargod district, whereas his wife is from Talapady Uchil (KC Road) in Dakshina Kannada district.
Jazeel had come to Riyadh a week back on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year holidays, to spend time with his family. He had been on a picnic trip with his friends to a valley near Riyadh, when tragedy struck. In an unfortunate incident, he drowned in a lake there.
After the Jumma prayer, his funeral prayer had been arranged at the Al-Rajhi Grand Mosque Rabuwa (exit 15) on Friday December 26. Thousands of people including several dignitaries had gathered. Scores of people had also come to the burial ground in Al Naseem Grave Yard to pay homage to Jazeel and pray for the departed soul.
