Mangalore, Dec 27: Renowned gynaecologist and obstetrician of the city, Dr Ashadevi Rai (65) breathed her last due to ailment at her home in Old Kent Road in Pandeshwar in the city on Friday December 26.

Rai had served KMC Hospital in the capacity of professor for about 35 years before retiring. She had also served as medical officer in the Lady Goschen Hospital and Adappa Nursing Home here.

She is survived by husband and a daughter.
