Mangaluru, Jan 7: Deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Sasikanth Senthil and deputy commissioner of Udupi district Priyanka Mary Francis have declared holiday for schools and colleges on Tuesday, January 8 in respective districts.

The press statements issued by both district administrations separately said that all school and colleges will remain closed on account bandh call given by some labour organisations.

Many associations have pledged support for the same. But private bus operators from both the districts said that they will run their buses as usual.

    In USA , trump says he will not pay government employee salary for one year or work else where... In order to wall against Mexico and fund that project..
    In our country many people have jobs and they don't attend their duty... Those people should be dismissed and new recruitment should be done... I think former PM Indira Ghandi should born again to control these bandhs

    @sri-elder karakala,Iam surprised this to hear from you.in positive sinn.In our karnataka or India these Bandhs are increasing daily.Of course a holiday for children is good to stay at home,but what about their studies,and exams ?loss of classes lead to less chance to study. When shops are closed no market,loss to all consumer,and vendors too .where it will lead to?One have to worry about our children.

    Ajjere Bakht

    Has a change of heart, likes Smt Indira Gandhi, not sure if it is for his personnel reasons or tired of Bandhs and MPs statement on burning the district.

    Long Live Ajjere, this comment will be stored for a future reference and when you turn back as ANDH Bakht.

    @Robert,

    It's not change of heart. He might have got the instructions from High Command to carry on praising Nehru/ Gandhi family; as Nitin Gadkari is doing currently. This may be their new strategy to show that they are not against that family, as they have failed in recent election that demonstrated a rhetoric against that family.

    Why all the TV channels are showing that ' there no Holiday tomorrow for schools and colleges,?' When now they declared, immediately they must change the news and inform about the Holiday. TV must be alert regarding this news.

    Postponed because of this bundh.

    As it is, they are short of time because final exams are followed soon after due to impending Parliamentary elections.
