Mangalore, Dec 26: A team of policemen headed by District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) inspector H N Venkatesh Prasanna arrested two Nigerian nationals from near the Highland Hospital on Falnir Road here on Wednesday December 24, for staying here without having valid documents.
The arrested have been identified as Kenneth Okey Eze(30) and Benneth Igbonezv(32). It was found, that the photograph of Kenneth was pasted on a passport belonging to some other person to look like a genuine passport. Benneth said that he had lost his passport in Mumabi last year and that he had filed a complaint with the Andheri Railway Police Station in this connection on December 19 last year. Both did not possess visas and stayed in India since over a year without any valid documents, the policemen said.
The DCIB policemen also took into possession Rs 14,290 in cash and three mobile phone sets from the arrested persons and handed them over to Kadri police station. On being produced at the court of the chief judicial magistrate here, they were remanded to judicial custody till January 7, 2009.
