Mangalore, Dec 21: A fifty-eight-year-old man was found murdered at his residence in Kumpala, a few kilometres from Tokkottu on Deralakatte Road, near here, on Sunday December 21.
The deceased has been identified as K G Paul, who was working as an attender at KMC Hospital. He is said to have been living with his mistress Hemavati, who has allegedly gone missing. Paul’s neighbours called in the Ullal police when the door of his house was not opened till Sunday afternoon.
Sources informed that Paul’s wife Jessy and son Ajay Santosh had separated from him 10 years ago and had been living in Valencia, since. He had shunned talking to his neighbours after he began living with Hemavati, a native of Malnad.
Police suspect Hemavati’s involvement in the murder with the motive being his money and valuables. Neighbours also reportedly heard heated arguments between the two on Saturday night.
Additional superintendent of police K Dileep, and circle inspector Lingappa Poojary, along with other policemen visited the spot and brought in a sniffer dog.
Ullal police registered a case on the basis of a complaint lodged by Paul’s son Ajay.
