Sullia, Dec 21: The inaugural of ‘Samskritika Vedike Kala Taranga’, was held at Sullia, recently.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Shashidhar Kote, singer, said that music is the language of the heart. It is a medium close to the heart and mind. Music should reside in everyone’s soul, he said.
Dr Chandrashekar Damle, president, Sneha Shikshana Samste, presided over the function. Surekha Gopal Hegde, artiste, and Chandrashekar, journalist, participated as the chief guest.
Gokul Das, chief secretary, delivered the keynote address on the occasion. P R Chandrashekar, welcomed the gathering. Kailash Shenoy proposed vote of thanks.
Jayanta Kerpala and Roopakala Rai compered the programme.
Later, the final round of the taluk-level singing contest ‘Kala Kantasiri-2008’, was also held.
