Mangalore, Dec 21: A mass ‘Shiva Panchakshari Koti Samarpana’ will be performed at the Sri Madakai Navadurga Mahaganapati Temple on Monday December 29.
The event is being organized by the Shiva Panchakshari Koti Likita Japa Yaga Committee. Padubidri Damodar Bhat, scholar, will be honoured with the title ‘Brahmajnani’ in the presence of Sri Shivananda Saraswati Swami, Kaivalya Math, on Monday December 22 said Prakash Kadri, chief secretary, Yaga committee, at a press conference on Friday December 19.
As a part of the oblation, various religious, literary, and cultural programmes, will be performed in the presence of 70 scholars and renowned artistes from Tuesday December 23 to Sunday December 28, he said.
The Swamiji will be taken to the temple in a procession from Lady Hill Circle on Monday December 29 at 6 pm. Books of the chant ‘Om Namah Shivaya’, penned by the devotees will be offered in the oblation. Over 15, 000 books by devotees are expected, said Kadri.
Mundkoor Madhava Kamath, president, committee, Vishwanath Bhat, trustee, Sri Madakai Navadurga Mahaganapati Temple, Annayya Sherigar, member, reception committee, and Vijeendra Kamath, vice-president, Yaga committee, were present at the conference.
