Daijiworld Media Network - Belagavi/Vijayapur (MS)

Belagavi/Vijaypur, Dec 27: Three different statements by three leaders of state BJP with regards to the instability of the coalition government and the plans of BJP to strike at the right opportunity have sent signals that all is not well in the party.

Yeddyurappa, state BJP president, gave a statement in the city saying that "BJP will not try to form the government". Umesh Katti of BJP in his statement said "We will change the government within a week." In the midst of these two, K S Eshwarappa said in Vijayapur "The coalition government will fall by itself. Then the BJP government will come to power."

BJP will form government within a week, says Umesh Katti

Hukkeri MLA, Umesh Katti, who come to Belagavi to take part in the party meeting said, "BJP will form government in the state within a week. More than 15 MLAs of Congress and JD (S) are in touch with us. We are not calling anyone. They only will desert their parties and come to us. So the coalition government will collapse and new government will be formed."

No change in government, says Yedyurappa

State BJP president and former CM Yeddyurappa, who also came out from the same meeting, clarified, "We have not contacted any frustrated MLAs of Congress and JD (S) who are showing dissent due to the extension of the ministry. There is no development of change of government for the time being." Umesh Katti was standing right next to Yeddyurappa when he gave this statement to the press.

"All will have contact with Umesh Katti. We have to wait and watch the move of everyone. Let me tell you honestly that I am not in contact with any MLAs from Congress or JD (S)," added B S Yeddyurappa.

Answering to the question of formation of new government for the new year, Yeddyurappa said "There is no development in that direction now. We will work for the state being in the opposition."

Government will fall by itself, says Eshwarappa

BJP leader K S Eshwarappa, who spoke with the media at Vijaypur, said, "Earlier there was fight among the MLAs of Congress for the position of minister. Now though the position of minister is offered, there is issue of portfolio distribution. Siddaramaiah has given the ministership to people who are in his good books. Senior leaders like Shyamanur Shivashankarappa has shown his dissent and this shows the internal rivalry in Congress. The coalition government will fall by itself and BJP government will assume power in future."

These three contradictory statements by three leaders of BJP clearly shows that all is not well within the party.
