Mangalore, Dec 18: An inter-religious prayer meet will be held at the premises of the Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte, on Sunday December 21 at 6 pm.
The programme will be jointly organized by Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikernakatte, and Ryshivana, Institute of Indian Christian Spirituality, Ranipura.
It is being organized to pray for the victims of the Mumbai terror attacks and to promote peace, solidarity, unity, and oneness among all citizens of the city, said Fr George Santhumayor, rector, Infant Jesus Shrine, speaking at the press conference on Thursday December 18 at 10.30 am.
More dignitaries and religious newspapers will join the meet and conduct prayers in their respective religious traditions, he said.
Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop of Mangalore, will preside over the function.
Dr C L Furtado, bishop emeritus, CSI, Karnataka Southern Diocese, Prof Syed Akheel Ahmed, vice-chancellor, Yenepoya University, Sri Mohandas Swami, Sri Dham, Manila, and Dr John Fernandes, chair person, department of Christianity, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
Fr George Santhumayor, rector, Infant Jesus Shrine, Dr John Sequeira, director, Ryshivana, Ranipura, and Stanly Bantwal, were present at the press meet.
