Mangalore, Dec 17: The third general meeting of the education board was held at the New Senate Hall of Mangalore University on Tuesday December 16.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof K M Kaveriappa, vice-chancellor, Mangalore University, said that the University Education Board had approved the introduction of the ‘choice-based credit semester scheme’, from the next academic year.
In semester system, students do not get time to participate in the curriculum activities. The professors, deans, and principals, of various colleges had formed a committee under the presidentship of Prof B Timmegowda, department of chemistry, Mangalore University. The choice-based credit system scheme will also be adopted for post graduation courses in the coming year, he said.
Prof P S Yadapadittaya, financial officer, Mangalore University, submitted a financial copy of the year 2007-2008.
Prem Kumar, registrar, Mangalore University, and Radhakrishna Madankar, (evaluation) registrar, Karnataka Administrative Service, were present on the occasion.
