Udupi, Dec 22: Nikhil Kanchan, a young boy hailing from Udupi is earning laurels in America. Kundapur based Nikhil is being seen as a rising cricket star in American cricket sector because of his talent.

Nikhil who was extremely interested in cricket since his childhood is earning laurels in international arena. Nikhil is performing exceedingly well in fielding, batting and keeping wickets.

He completed his primary education at Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar and was into cricket since his childhood. He got training in wicket keeping from Pradeep of Kundapur’s popular cricket team.

Nikhil is the son of Kundapur based entrepreneur K K Kanchan and Shanta Kanchan. He obtained his PU education in Viveka Junior College, Kota and went on to secure his engineering degree in Bengaluru Institute of Technology. He led BIT cricket team on university level during his four years of studies in the engineering college.

He made great achievements in Karnataka state B division league. He went to America for higher studies and secured M S post graduate degree from university of Michigan, America. He is working as senior design engineer in the prestigious Ford Motors Company, Detroit at present.

Nikhil has made unrivaled achievements in both outdoor cricket and indoor cricket. He led Michigan state cricket team in the cricket tournaments held in Michigan last month.

He was declared best player and best batsman in 40 over cricket tournament, best batsmen and player in T-20 tournament, best player and best fielder in US corporate cup T-20 tournaments, best batsman in Detroit super league and received several other awards. He has taken major part in winning championships repeatedly for three years by being the captain of University of Michigan cricket team.
