Mangalore, Dec 16: ‘Imprint 2008’, an inter-college science fest, will be held at St Aloysius College Altorium on Wednesday December 17 and Thursday December 18.
The annual event is for students pursuing the various Bachelors of Science courses and the Bachelors of Computer Application.
Dr K V Rao, director, science centre, Pilikula Nisargadhamam will inaugurate the programme on Wednesday at 9 am.
Competitions like ‘Exquisition’ (science quiz), ‘Prez-ex’ (seminar competition), ‘Contemplate’ (debate), ‘Kode-Kombat’ (programme coding and decoding), ‘Karnage’ (computer gaming), ‘Mathologic’ (maths puzzle), ‘Naturalist’ (taxonomy), and ‘Junkyard Warriors’ (wealth from waste), will be conducted as a part of the fest, said Chandrashekar Shetty, head of department, computer science, St Aloysius College, speaking at a press conference on Monday December 15.
Fr Sweebert D’Silva, principal, will preside over the function. M P Kunju, general manager, Corporation Bank, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
Over 200 students from various colleges around the country will participate in the fest while around 3,000 students from various schools in the city are expected to visit the exhibition.
