Mysore, Dec 16: The policemen from Mysore South police station succeeded in busting a visa racket. They arrested three persons on Monday December 15 and recovered 55 passports, 87 duplicate visas and a computer from them. They are searching for one more accused in the case.

Acting upon a complaint filed by a person, the policemen led by inspector Mahesh raided a placement service unit located in Bandipalya here and took into custody owner of the unit named Mohammed Rashid and two staff members, Mohiyuddin and Mohammed Kunhi. One other accomplice of Rashid, named Shaji Thomas is absconding.

The said unit had through an advertisement, claimed that they can arrange visas to the Sultanate of Oman. It is said that many people approached the unit, submitted passports and agreed to pay Rs 25,000 for every visa.  The complainant Mansoor, a resident of Tumkur who received visa stamp, grew suspicious and complained to the police. It may be recalled, that the city police had cracked a similar racket in the city a few months ago and recovered passports and cash from a person hailing from Kerala.
