Mangalore, Dec 15: The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) Awareness conference will be held at Don Bosco Hall on Saturday December 20 at 2.30 pm.
The programme will be organized by Pro- LIC People's Forum.
In 1999 the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government benefited the Indian private company by privatizing LIC. It also provided 26 percent of capital investment to the foreign countries. But the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government is still privatizing LIC and increasing capital investment of foreign countries from 26 percent to 49 percent said U Gurudatt, chief secretary, All India Insurance Employees' Association (AIIEA) speaking at the press conference on Monday December 15 at 10.30 am.
Until the union government takes back its decision we will continue our struggle and conduct more conferences to create awareness among the people he said.
Dr Nityananda Shetty, litterateur will inaugurate the conference.
J Suresh, South Central Zone Insurance Employees' Federation (SCZIEF) will deliver the key note address on the occasion.
K N Shashidhar, LIC class one, officer's association, B Udayachandra, chief secretary, National Federation of Insurance Field Workers of India (NFIFWI) and L Manjunath, national secretary, LIC Agents' Organization of India (LICAOI) will be the chief guest.
Prabhakar Kundar, president, AIIEA, Udupi division will preside over the function.
U Gurudatt, chief secretary, AIIEA, Jagadish V Goli, NFIFWI, Gurucharan Rao, LICAOI, K N Shashidhar, officers' association and K P Bhat were present at the press conference.
