Bangalore, Dec 15: The request of the Indian Coastguard, for the allocation of about 25 acres of land each in Mangalore and Karwar for setting up of air station has been pending with the state government since the last some years, it is learnt, As a result, the 320 km long coastline of the state is prone to terrorist attacks.
The successive governments in the state have been dilly-dallying with the proposal, without taking a concrete decision, jeopardizing the interests of the coastal belts. The coast guard has also asked for a separate jetty in Mangalore port. It has already requested the port authorities for the same, it is gathered.
