Belagavi, Dec 18: On Monday December 17, former minister, N Mahesh, watched cellphone inside the assembly. The matter became a controversy as carrying mobile phones into the assembly has been barred.

The former minister had taken his cellphone into the assembly hall after the lunch recess before the session started, and was found watching his phone. A scene in which he was caught on camera looking at the picture of a lady in his mobile was transmitted by the visual media.

As soon as the matter spread, he clarified to media persons that a hospital in his constituency had problems with the ventilator and that he had received information about it in his phone via WhatsApp. "I was reading that information. I also was looking at a photo my friend had sent, as we are looking for a suitable match for my son," he clarified.
