Paul Colaco elected new president of SMKC Dubai

Dubai, Dec 16: St Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC) Dubai, the premier association in UAE, held its general body meeting recently and unanimously elected Paul Colaco as the new president for the next two years.

Paul Colaco is a well known personality in the Konkani community of Dubai. He is a good organizer and social worker. He has served in St Mary's Church Dubai as a Eucharist Minister for 6 years.

Pius D'Cruz, another active member, was elected as vice president. Bhaskar G was elected as general secretary and Frenny Fernandes as joint secretary. Elizabeth Noronha continues as the treasurer.

The newly elected president Paul Colaco said, "I wish to thank my predecessor, Joe Fernandes, our founder president Noel Mascarenhas and all our dedicated SMKC Dubai members who have unanimously chosen me for this position. The main motto of SMKC Dubai is to ‘Wipe a tear and bring a smile’ and I am sure as done in the past 18 years, we will be able to bring joy and happiness to the downtrodden and a ‘ray of hope’ to the needy.”

Paul thanked all the members for the trust bestowed on him and expressed support for the future upcoming event. The Details of mega event ‘Grand Konkan Showers – 2019’ will be announced shortly.

    Let the light of God shine on this earth through the goods deeds of SMKC family towards the marginalised society of Mangalore and surrounding areas as done during the past 18 years.
    We have been together through all the joys and turmoils of our Association and its light is still shining bright through our SMKC Education Trust Fund placed at Bishop's house and SMKC Medical Trust Fund at St. Anne's Friary, Mangalore.     The beacon of hope and spread of SMILES to academic scholars and aid to sick and needy will never fade away due to roll back of funds from beneficiaries.
