Bantwal, Dec 10: Police on Tuesday December 9 claimed to have unraveled the mystery behind the murder of aluminum factory night watchman Tippesh and cited the victim’s illicit relationship with a married woman, as the motive behind the heinous crime.
Tippesh was murdered near Kalladka on the night of Sunday December 7 and his body found the next morning on the premises of the factory. He had been living with a woman named Chandramma for about a month. Suspicions were aroused when Ramesh, a resident of Bagalkot, arrived at their house a few days ago along with two children. Tippesh told the neighbours that Ramesh was a relative who was visiting accompanied by his children.
Initial police investigations revealed that Tippesh and Ramesh were neighbours in Bagalkot where Tippesh fell in love with Ramesh’s wife Chandramma. She then eloped with Tippesh, deserting her two children and husband. Tippesh and Chandramma arrived in Kalladka, found work, and began staying together.
However, Ramesh traced them to Kalladka and arrived with the children a few days ago. When Tippesh was drunk, Ramesh silt his throat and fled with Chandramma and the children. The local police are now headed towards Bagalkot, in search of the killer.
