TUMKUR, Dec 9: Janata Dal (Secular) State president H.D. Kumaraswamy here on Monday reacted sharply to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s criticism of his wife contesting the by-election from Madhugiri in Tumkur district.
He was accompanying his wife, Anita Kumaraswamy, who filed her nomination papers at 2.39 p.m. in Madhugiri.
Later, the former Chief Minister told presspersons that BJP’s spokesman V. Dhananjaya Kumar had passed a mean remark on the JD (S) decision to field his wife.
Kumaraswamy said the BJP itself had admitted that they (the BJP) were Kauravas and the Janata Dal (S) were the Pandavas. “Ultimately, the Janata Dal (S) will win like the Pandavas,” he said.
Kumaraswamy, his wife, and their son, Nikhil Gowda, arrived in Madhugiri around 2.30 pm.
Party leaders from the district and supporters accorded them a grand reception on their arrival.
