Mangalore: Conference Against Terrorism on Jan 3

Mangalore, Dec 7: The Ullal Syed Madani Dargha Committee and Jamia Markhaz Convocation Publicity Committee Calicut, will jointly organize a conference against terrorism at Nehru Maidan on Saturday January 3.
Addressing media persons at the Press Club on Saturday December 6, U K Monu Kanachur, president, conference committee, said that it is the bounden duty of every citizen of the world to fight against global terrorism to save humanity. “The main objectives of the conference are to create awareness against terrorism in the youth and to clarify the stand of Islam on this evil”, he said.
Awareness meetings against terrorism, will be held prior to the conference as well as a vehicle rally in city centers of the undivided Dakshina Kannada district on Monday December 22 to Wednesday December 24. Banners, handbills, and posters, will also be distributed during the rally. About 50,000 people are expected to attend the conference, he added. Meanwhile, an Ulema conference will be held at Taqwa Masjid, Pumpwell, on the same day.
K Rahman Khan, vice-president, Rajya Sabha, will inaugurate the conference. Haj and Wakf minister Dr Mamthaz Ali Khan, A P Aboobacker Musliar, Bekala Ibrahim Musliar, Perode Abdurrahman Saqafi, former union minister C M Ibrahim, Y Abdullah Kunhi, chancellor, Yenepoya University, Y Muhammad Kunhi, Muhammad Masood, and MLA U T Khader, will be the chief guests.
A A Hyder Parthypady, secretary, conference committee, vice-president S M Rashid, B M Mamthaz Ali Khan, and M S M Zaini Kamil, were present at the press meet.
