Madikeri, Dec 7: Chief Minister Kumaraswamy and MP Pratap Simha expressed their displeasure against each other during the ground breaking of rehabilitation centre for flood victims in Kodagu.
Minister Sara Mahesh and DCM Parameshwar had mentioned the amount given by the state government before MP Pratap Simha spoke in the ground breaking function held in Jamboor, Madikeri. They had also said that the centre should fund in Kerala model.
Pratap Simha who spoke subsequently said that the centre also has helped people in the district. “I received no response when I asked Nirmala Seetaraman that we need NDRF squad. Therefore, when I requested on my letterhead, NDRF squad came immediately to Kodagu. The road from Kushalnagar to Jodupalya was damaged and the NHAI completely repaired those roads.”
“The centre has provided Rs 546 crore like the way it gave to Kerala,” he said.
The chief minister who was annoyed with Pratap Simha’s speech, signalled him to stop. Pratap Simha ignored the request. The chief minister who got further annoyed, asked minister Mahesh who was sitting beside the chief minister to ask Pratap Simha to stop his speech.
The chief minister was expressing his anger even after Pratap Simha finished his speech, came back and took his seat. However Pratap Simha did not react and remained silent.
