Udupi: Three-day ‘Festival of Peace’ to be held from Dec 7

Udupi, Dec 7: “Fellowship of Udupi district churches will hold three-day ‘Festival of Peace 2018’ from December 7 to 9 at Christian PU College, Mission Compound here,” said trustee of the committee, Prashanth Jathanna.

He was speaking at a press conference at Udupi press club on Thursday, December 7. He said, “Bishop of Udupi diocese Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo will inaugurate the programme at 5.30 pm on Friday, December 7. Rev Sam P Chelladarai, Apostolic Fellowship Tabernecle, Chennai will read the Gospel and will deliver the messages.

“The chief guest of the event will be Rt Rev Mohanraj, bishop of CSI Karnataka southern diocese. Pastor Joseph, Jamakhandi, president of Full Gospel Pastors’ Association, and P Prakash Simon, president of the Universal Dakshina Kannada District United Basel Mission, will attend the ceremony.

“The main purpose of organising the programme is to spread love, patience and peace in life. The committee wants to pray to God to increase harmony and brotherhood and spread message on these subjects.

“A team of 200 people will participate in the Music band. This would be the main attraction of the programme.

“Sarala Sonse and pastor Francis Oliver will lead the programme.

“This is open for all. Every day evening there will be cultural activities. Formal programmes will begin at 5.30 pm,” said Jathanna.

Sudhakar, treasurer, Fellowship of Udupi district, Stephen Jamakhandi, president, full Gospel pastors association, K V Paul, office bearer, Fr Prez, and Prabhakar Ammanna were present.
