Mangalore, Dec 3: An AIDS awareness programme organized on the occasion of the World Aids Day by Sahyadri Institute of Health Sciences was held at the Town Hall in the city on Tuesday December 2.
As part of the programme, rally, stage programmes and street play were organized by the students of the institute.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhandary Foundation chairman Manjunat Bhandary said that the Foundation is committed to create AIDS awareness among the people and that the nursing students of the institution are affectively conducting awareness programmes.
Dr Jacinta D'Souza, principal, Roshini Nilaya School of Social Work, inaugurated the programme, while Dr Nidarsh Hegde, district commandant, Home Guards, inaugurated the rally.
Prof Irine Veigas, principal, Sahyadri College of Nursing, presided over the programme.
Dr Kiran, medical officer, ART, Wenlock Hospital was present on the occasion.
Prof Jacinta Veigas, vice-principal of Sahyadri College of Nursing, welcomed the gathering. Benedicta, principal, School of Nursing proposed vote of thanks.
