Mangalore, Dec 2: Speaking at the World Aids Day organised by the Janasevanjali Datti Foundation here on Monday, he said “we observe several Days like Aids Day, Mother Day, Father Day. Observing a Day has become a business. There are crores of people who do not have one square meals a day. There is a need to observe poverty removal day for the welfare of the poor.
Dr Hegde said every individual should discharge his responsibility. Social changes can be achieved only through education.
“There is a need to instill confidence among HIV affected persons rather than providing medicine. Fear can kill a person,” he added.
Roshni Nilaya Principal Dr Jacintha D’Souza said its incorrect to keep HIV affected separately. Show them love, concern. HQA Prabhakar Sharma presided. MIFT Founder President M G Hegde, Mangalore University Syndicate member P V Mohan and others were present. Students took out a jaatha from Tagore Park to Town Hall.
