Mangaluru: ‘Abhiman’ - Melwyn Peris’ Konkani golden melodies is super hit

Mangaluru, Nov 29: ‘Abhiman’ a collection of 40 golden melodies sung by Melwyn Peris and 17 Konkani’s legendary singers is now available in market in the form of a single album along with a book containing the lyrics of the songs. The album was released at the Melwyn Peris sentimental nite held recently at Fr Muller’s Convention Hall.

After its release, the album has created sensation all around the Konkani world, especially as Melwyn Peris declared it as the last music album of his life.

 

A team of senior and junior singers have rendered their voice for this album. Rony D’Cunha, Rony Crasta, Robin Sequeira , Ashwin D’Costa, Nester Peris, Prakash D’Souza, Albert Peris, Stevan Cutinha, Rainal Sequeira, Vilton Fernandes, Alston Fernandes, Austin Nazareth, Anita D’Souza, Shilpa Cutinha, Zeena Pereira, Jacqueline Fernandes, Munita Veigas , Amabel Moras, Meera D’Souza, Ket Pereira, Carol Sequeira, Shiny Pereira, Preema D’Souza, Sonal Monteiro, Jasmine D’Cunha, Thio Alvares, Nihal Tauro, Jason Lobo, and Samson Coelho are the singers who have rendered their voice. ‘Sangeeth Guru’ Joel Pereira and Roshan D’Souza, Angelore arranged music for the songs.

Some evergreen songs of legendary singers and lyrists Wilfy Rebimbus, Jerome D’Souza, Henry D’Souza, Valli Vas, Henry T D’Souza, Cha Fra D’Costa, P H Pinto, Denis Peris, Mick Max, Benet Pinto and Kishore Kumar are also included in the album in remixed versions.

“In my childhood, I was inspired by some legendary singers and lyricists. After that I started to sing in public and that time, many of my close friends and relatives supported me. Later, I got a chance to share stage with great singers of Konkani. I was influenced by them especially Kishore Kumar from Bollywood. So I produced ‘Abhiman’ my music careers 31st and last album with an intention of dedicating it to the legendary singers. Konkani’s well known singers have rendered their voice for this album along with some young sensational singers. After a month of releasing the album, I am getting a positive response by call and texts and many have appreciated my efforts. There is large demand for copies in Gulf and Canada and U.K. We will announce the availability of ‘Abhiman’ in these countries soon, “says Melwyn Peris.

“I heard about the release of Abhiman. But I could not buy it on the same day. After one week, I purchased the album. It is a treasure trove of songs. ‘Ambo pikla’ the poem of Cha Fra, composed by Wilfy Rebimbus, ’Tuje sobith dhon dole’ of Mick Max , and songs of Denis Peris and others are included in this album. All golden hits of Melwyn Peris are included in this album,” says Arthur Pinto from Bantwal.

The album has a mixture of sentimental, love and dance songs with mesmerizing music and great vocals. Neeta Peris of Sangeeth Ghar has produced the album and it was mixed by Joel Pereira. Pinto Vamanjoor has designed the cover of album and the book.

The album is available at Jerosa Company, Mangaluru, Sangeeth Ghar and major stalls around the district.
