Mangaluru: 17 boats engaged in sand mining seized at Adyar

Mangaluru, Nov 29: The officials of Department of Mines and Geology seized 17 boats engaged in sand mining here at Adyar Arafa Dakke on November 28.

The conducted raided the boats in the midnight for engaging in illegal sand mining. However, the people who were in the boats managed to escape.

Kankanady police too had joined the raid along with Niranjan, head of district geological and mining department and officers R K Murthy, Chennappa and Sudarshan.

    Its all drama, to wink people's eye that geology department is working sincerely.their bar and pub bills are been beared by this buiseness itself.monthly one's they will ride by scripting all stage set. Wah geology department u should be awarded best acting department in Karnataka govt.

    by doing this they are hitting the pockets middle income people, sand is not available in Karnataka. people importing it from Tamilnadu or other nearby states. It increases the price by 3-4 times of the value. by hook or crook contructions wont stop. but officals earning a good amount from the exporters. Our state income is going to nearyb states.
