Bengaluru: MLA Satish Jarkiholi says government yet to take off

Bengaluru, Nov 24: Congress MLA, Satish Jarkiholi, admitted that the coalition government in the state has not yet taken off.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday November 24, he demanded for immediate expansion of the state ministry. He admitted that there is strong resentment among the MLAs about the delay in ministry expansion. He said that the government will need some time before it can take off.

"Under the current government, grants are not being released properly to individual constituencies. During the period of Siddaramaiah as chief minister, each of the constituencies got grant up to Rs 40 crore, which has come down to ten crore rupees now," he explained.

Satish sprang a surprise by criticizing his own brother and minister, Ramesh Jarkiholi. "D K Shivakumar has done something which minister, Ramesh Jarkiholi, was expected to do. Ramesh should have gone to Belagavi on this occasion. But he has remained in the city," he stated. He also added that Shivakumar and Ramesh Jarkiholi are friends since the last two decades. "The issue of resignation by Ramesh Jarkiholi surfaced briefly before disappearing into the oblivion at the same speed," he analyzed.

The utterances made by Satish Jarkiholi now have given rise to speculations in political circles who are finding it hard to digest vastly different approaches of Satish and Ramesh Jarkiholi, who are close to each other. Political pundits have been trying to make some sense out of the fact that Ramesh Jarkiholi is in constant contact with BJP which is trying to launch Operation Lotus in the state, and the statement by Satish Jarkiholi which totally gives out a different picture altogether.

The five Jarkiholi brothers in Karnataka’s Belagavi district — Ramesh, Satish, Balachandra, Bhimshi and Lakhan — have amassed fortunes and harnessed political power by sticking together in spite of shadow boxing with each other from different political parties over the years.
Anybody who opposes them ends up in a lot of pain, even if it is not physical harm. They might have represented different political parties but always they ensure that the family interests are addressed. It is actually a smart strategy whether it is Congress or BJP in power, one of the Jarkiholi brothers will be a minister
Jarkiholi brothers, two of who are with the Congress and one with the BJP, are one of the biggest defaulters. The three collectively owe Rs 66 crore for canegrowers. Satish Jarkiholi, the eldest of the siblings, who heads Satish Sugars and Belagavi Sugars, has pending dues of Rs 42 crore while Municipal Administration Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, who owns the Sowbhagya Sugars, has to pay Rs 20 crore to farmers. Ghataprabha Cooperative Sugars controlled by former minister and BJP MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi has Rs 4 crore pending dues. Ramesh, however, told reporters that he would quit if his mill had Rs 20 crore pending dues for cane farmers. The minister is in - charge of Belagavi district, where farmers continue to protest.
How does government will take off when your own brother is lobbying for a prime post with BJP and bargaining at the same time threatening the coalition government of JD(S)-Congress?
Now the BJP is offering more than Rs500 crores to cross over with their supporters, this offer seems lucrative with the outstanding bills to the farmers.
If farmers are don't supply or stop growing 'Sugarcane' the fortune will tumble for the worst.

It seems Jakiholis have some big plans waiting for the right time to strike the chord.
