Udupi, Nov 21: Minister of women and children development, Kannada and culture and district in- charge minister Dr Jayamala said that a Rangayana and Rangamadira will be constructed in the district at a cost of Rs 7 crore and it will be inaugurated in December next year. She was speaking after inaugurating several works in the district hospital premises.
“The government has implemented several pro-people projects. Waste disposal unit is a model for the state,” she said commending the deputy commissioner.
She inaugurated Ayush hospital, CT scanning center, SLRM unit and laid foundation stone for eye hospital construction costing one crore.
The minister handed over Rs 5 lac compensation to the family of youth who had died in power mishap.
Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, district panchayat president Dinaker Babu, vice president Sheela K Shetty, district panchayat member Janardhan Thonse, DC Priyanka Mary Francis, district health and family welfare officer Dr Rohini, district surgeon Dr Madhusoodan, district Ayush officer Alakananda Rao and others were present.
Speaking on other issues, the minister said that Rajyotsava awards will be presented by November end. “The awards were delayed due to election code of conduct,” she said.
“The problems of farmers are like our problems. Therefore we are always prepared to solve their problems. I have seen what the chief minister spoke regarding sugarcane growers protests. The CM has great respect towards women,” she said.
“Elections to local organisations will be completed by this month end. Regarding Sabarimale, everybody should speak touching their souls. I will not speak about those who target the almighty,” she said.
“We are working to provide justice to sand problem in the district,” she said.
