Moodbidri, Nov 21: The fifth annual 'Karnataka Mini Film Festival' of the Yuva Pratibha Vedike, being organized by Shree College will be held at Amarashree theatre here, on Friday November 21, 22 and 23 at 9 am.
Organizer of the festival and founder of Shree College Shekar Ajekar said, that the film titled 'Sudda' by P N Ramachandra has got the honour of being screened as the inaugural film of the festival.
'Gubbacchigalu', a childrens' film by Abhayasimha from Mangalore, which has taken part in various international film festivals in the Indian Panorama section including the recent Goa International Film Festival, 'Guddada Mane' by Prakash Suvarna Katpady, three full length regular films and 13 mini films will be screened at the festival. A film, 'Mungaru Mugilu ' by Times of India caricature artist Prakash Babu and his other film, 'Poorva Dikkina Gali' that has been selected for the Kerala Film Festival, will also be shown here. Several other films and mini films including 'The Secret of Silence ' by Kartik Paradkar will take part in the festival, he said.
In the special section, four mini films by talented young Mangalorean director Abhaysimha and 'Watch Out' in which well known Tulu theatre artiste Navin Padil has acted, have been included.
After the screening of 'Suddha' on the inaugural day, a programme of interaction with the srtistes of the film, Subhaschandra Padival, Bhoja Shetty, Sharada Devi and Gopal, has been arranged.
Entry for the films, which are screened from 9 am onwards daily till the afternoon, will be free for all age groups. Over 1,500 students from schools, highschools and colleges from around the town will also take part in the film festival, Ajekar informed.
