Byndoor: Police constable on night rounds killed in accident

Byndoor, Nov 15: In a tragic accident that occurred on NH 66 of Udupi district on the early morning of Thursday, November 15, a police constable belonging to the Byndoor police station lost his life.

Nagesh Billava is the unfortunate person who lost his life in this tragedy. Nagesh was doing night duty and was riding his bike when this mishap took place. His bike collided against the truck that was parked by the roadside near the national highway at Kambadakone. Nagesh died of severe bleeding due to the impact of the accident.

Byndoor police station personnel visited the spot and are taking necessary action.

Nagesh Billava had married just five months ago. SP Laxman Nimbargi visited the spot in the early morning of Thursday and is personally coordinating with the post-mortem examination and handing over of the mortal remains of Nagesh to his family members.

    It is most unfortunate to know a police constable was killed a an accident. Whoever is responsible for this young man's death should be severely punished. May his soul RIP and deepest condolences to his newly married wife and all his loved ones. I have seen most of the trucks, buses and heavy vehicles are parked on the roadside, especially at night with no hazard lights on and no reflectors. Police department should take strict action in fact such vehicles should not be on the roads.

    Its fate, vehicles should not park in road or road side with out proper hazards. Patrolling police must
    take serious action against such offenders.

    It's not parked on the roadside, it's on road. It's frustrating to see when truck or buses parks on road side that also during night and driver casually walks out without bother about small vehicles coming behind.The driving license should be canceled for 1 year. RIP Nagesh.

    Why heavy vehicles are allowed to park on the road without any hazard lights?. So many deaths, but yet no action by authorities.These kinds of deaths would have been avoided.

    Very sad. Young and energetic officer lost his life due to negligent driver and disrespect for laws. Do we have laws regarding reflectors and tail lamps, parking lamps and Indicators? If we were strict in implementing many accidents and lives would have been saved. Even our MP is qualified to be a minister for challenging the police and vomiting communal venom. In India criminality is is a merit to become a Minister. If that is also applied to become top leaders?

    Is this truck parked roadside?
    Clearly it shows adjacent to road divider i.e. middle of the road, that too in a speed track parked.
    License is given without basic traffic knowledge.

    Eventhough well rider or driver night hours sometimes very hard to observer the clear vision with in 5 to 100 meters.just We can say RIP.

    RIP Constable Nagesh.

    Now the NH has taken life of traffic personnel who should have been aware of the unscientific highway and the violators of traffic rules.

    Will the authorities wake up?

    When at least 2-3 deaths of common people was happening on highway on a daily basis authorities did not wake up.

    Two wheelers should have a separate lane on highways or at least they should be allowed to ride only on hard shoulders.

    In our country we only consider above 10 deaths in one accident as grave. All other accidents involving below 10 deaths has become common. No botheration.

    Even after seeing and reading about daily accidents our people drive crazy on roads. I think they do not care.

    Two way lanes are done and ready, but unfotunately not been opened to the traffic. A precious life is gone and who is responsible for it ? Also trucks should not be allowed to be parked on the roads, specially during nights as there are no street lights on the highway all along from Kundapur to Bhatkal and beyond

    Most of the trucks are doesnt have proper mandatory lights brakes and signal even some vehicles dont have headlamps, these are ghost trucks causing the accidents in NH 66

    Appears to be two roads, one-way traffic on each side because there is a divider space between them. How come the truck is faced to the opposite direction while the road is for onward traffic as per Indian driving system ?

    Since its parked, obviously with the lights on off mode and being early morning it may not have been visible. Do AP drivers follow Arab-type driving system in their state to have parked in this condition ??
