Bantwal, Nov 19: Activists of the local unit of the All India Students Federation (AISF) along with All India Students Federation (AISF), holding lighted kerosene lamps, lanterns, and petromax lights, protested against the irregular power supply, in front of the office of state-owned Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM), on the night of Monday November 17.
The protesters took out a procession from the taluk panchayat office to MESCOM office shouting slogans against the state administration and MESCOM. Local AIYF leader Satish Kumar Bantwal, addressing the protesters, said that the state administration seemed to ignore the fact that irregular electricity supply causes hindrances to students, and agriculturists, amongst others.
Ramesh Kalagur said that the public is put to hardship owing to the tussle between the central and state governments over the issue of electricity. AISF leaders Bhaskar, Shekar, and Madhukar, were present on the occasion.
