Mangaluru Nov 14: Former MLA J R Lobo launched the website of Centre for Development Studies and Education (CEDSE) Care Child Cancer, a registered charitable trust here at School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya on Wednesday November 14.

A group of tiny tots inaugurated the programme by unveiling a rose flower pot.

Addressing the gathering, J R Lobo said, "This is a meaningful programme. Strength lies in doing small works with love. Cancer is a disease that has spread all over the country. Close to 45,000 children below the age of 18 suffer from cancer. This number is a matter of concern. Doctors are trying their level best in preventing the disease. At the same time, we should think how we can come forward to prevent this disease.

“We can see the condition of cancer patients, emotionally, mentally or economically. It is not only the patients who suffer, but their whole family suffers due to the disease. We cannot see the pain of cancer patients. This website can help donors to come forward for the assistance of cancer patients,” he said.

"This website will spread awareness through articles related to cancer and about preventive measures. It will be a knowledge sharing tool which will support cancer affected children in their education by providing financial support,” said chief coordinator CEDSE Herald Moras.

CEDSE has been running care child cancer programme since five years with the motto ‘Let child live not cancer’. It aims at saving precious lives of children from cancer - a disease which places children in situation of pain and deprivation of all things that a joyful childhood implies and brings much turmoil inclusive of financial burden to their families.

CEDSE Care Child Cancer has signed an MOU with three major hospitals in government Wenlock hospital, KMC and Fr Muller Hospital to reach out the effected children. As many as 102 children and their care givers have been provided financial support and an equal number are provided with counselling and emotional support to withstand the situation of crisis. Through this website we want to expand the vision of people besides the service provided and want to take forward the wellness of the children.

Director of CEDSE Dr Rita Noronha welcomed the gathering and Krithika compered the event.

Principal of Roshni Nilaya Dr Juliet C J , Dr Baliga and Dr Harsha Prasad were present.

Well done, we need a such center who may care for children cancer.

I request the trust not only to help financially, but to take care of our surrounding environment like school locations, residential zones. Today the inauguration is carried out by our ex- commissioner, our zonal regulations are formed with extremely good condition, but not implemented properly in D.K district .
our residences and schools are surrounded by industrial activities were the living environment is polluted and is increasing day by day. This is because of the total ignorance of zonal regulations
so i request the concern organisation to study the cause of children cancer due to environment affect.
i have a several issues and examples and being a cancer patient i like to share our experience with CEDSE. I WISH ALL THE BEST TO CEDSE

    REGARDS
