Mangaluru, Nov 14: BJP national president, Amit Shah, would be arriving in the city on Wednesday November 14 to take part in the southern India Baithak (session) of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He is scheduled to arrive at the international airport here from Bengaluru at about 5 pm today.
From the airport, Shah will directly proceed to Sangh Niketan at Mannagudda here and take part in the RSS session. He will stay overnight in a private hotel here and go back to Bengaluru by air on Thursday morning.
Amit Shah is likely to be accompanied by five senior leaders of the party including BJP national general secretary, B L Santhosh. On his arrival at the party airport, Shah will be received by BJP MPs, MLAs and district level leaders of the party.
RSS session which is meant to discuss about the future working plans of the organization is an important event which is being held at two places in the country now. The northern India Baithak is being held at Varanasi and the southern one is being held in the city. The programme began here on November 10. It will continue till November 15. Important leaders of RSS including its Karyavaha (general secretary) Bhayyaji Joshi (Suresh Joshi) would be taking part in the programme. BJP national leaders have been, as a matter of protocol, taking part in the national level Baithaks of RSS.
This will be the third visit of Shah to the city. It may be recalled that he had come to Dakshina Kannada district on February 19 this year and stayed at Kukke Subrahmanya for the night. He also had taken part in several programmes organized by BJP in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Later, he had led road shows organized in Mangaluru south and Mangaluru north assembly constituencies from afternoon to evening on May 8.
Although the participation of BJP national president in this Baithak is as per practice followed so far, it is said that RSS is likely to provide certain guidelines to BJP in drawing up it strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
