Davanagere: Illegal transportation of ‘Anna Bhagya’ rice - Cong corporator among four arrested

Davanagere, Nov 13: A Congress corporator and three others were arrested for illegally transporting rice meant for ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme of the state government.

Congress corporator Abdul Lateef, Sir Ali, Razaq and Nadhir are the arrested.

It is learnt that Abdul Lateef and three others were illegally transporting rice. On credible information, Malebennur police arrested them and seized 17 tonnes of rice and a lorry.

The accused were selling tonnes of rice meant for distribution to poor under ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme in the market.

The raid was carried out by DCP inspector Devraj. A case has been registered at Malebennur police station.

    Very sad to say even myself a middle class citizen in Mangalore wait to see which rice the government is giving to its citizens. Once or twice a year we get rice to eat for lunch/dinner rest to make dosas.

    Such a shaming act from these people.Why dont they dont have pity on people who are not able to have a good meal a day and help of govts misuse of it.This corruption is not from today but it has rooted deep in Indians blood from long.I remember days of my childhood in 50s the oil ,milkpowder a help sent from foreign was to be given to people was either not available in expected amount,or spoiled one is given out.Same with ration rice ,kerosine,sugar.Where it was going ?who was having the benefit of it?We cna only guess.we cant name it by political Party,but people with less sympathy to the poor .and money making maschines.Throw them behind whoever it is into prison.let them eat there whatever is given or not.They will get their punishment in Heaven.

    The efficient government caught him even though he belongs to the ruling party. This will never happen in BJP ruled states. Look at the Vyapam scam in MP.     Anna Bhagya , Indira canteen and other Bhagya;s are all cash returning Schemes / units for the party. Give people skills and job , make them work , any Manual laborer gets Rs 500 per day now a days . Give them corruption free governance . Not popular schemes...

    Government should start Huge ITI campuses at every districts. All SSLC failed , or those not able to continue education give them free training with food and accommodation in this ITI as electrician, fitter , AC mechanic, Building constructor, Carpenter , Plumber Diesel Mechanic Welder, Tool makers etc. . These guys will find their own job in country and abroad , and earn foreign exchange too.
    We have shortage of this skilled workers in country and also abroad .
