Madikeri, Nov 13: "The voters had supported BJP in the previous election based on its promises on the agenda of development and Hindutwa. I call upon BJP leaders to initiate construction of the temple dedicated to Lord Ram at Ayodha before the next election. Otherwise, Sri Ram Sene will call upon the people to vote against BJP," said head of Sri Ram Sene, Pramod Muthalik.
Addressing a press meet at Gonikoppal here on Monday November 12, Muthalik insisted that Ram Mandir, which symbolizes the wishes and aspirations of the Hindus of India, should be built at any cost.
Touching on the issue of Sabarimala controversy, he opined that the courts, before delivering verdicts on religious faiths, should value to the stands taken by senior members of respective religions.
On Tipu Jayanti, he said that even Muslims are against celebrating it. "Tipu Jayanti is losing its sheen every year. I have a feeling that Tipu Jayanti will not be celebrated next year," he said. He also congratulated the chief minister and deputy chief minister for staying away from Tipu Jayanti celebrations.
