Mangalore, Nov 17: Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary on Monday November 17, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to manipulate the investigation into the Malegaon blast by terming it an attack on Hindus.
Addressing mediapersons at the Press Club, he said the BJP and Sangh Parivar, were supporting terrorism in the country and this is an offence as per the Indian Penal Code. He added that every citizen should condemn terrorism unequivocally, like the Congress has been doing.
Poojary also condemned the attack on churches and assaults on priests in Mumbai by activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP), on Sunday November 16. He questioned the silence of so-called pro-Hindu organizations, on these incidents. ‘Hindu religion never preaches hatred. It is a serious crime that the Sangh Parivar is giving it the name of religion. They do not represent a particular community’, he opined.
He also urged spiritual leaders to speak against terrorism. Talking about the electricity and agricultural crisis in the state, Poojary said that BJP had started to terrorize even mediapersons and farmers who raise their voice against the government’s anti-people policy.
