Puttur, Nov 11: Sitting judge of Supreme Court, justice S Abdul Nazeer laid the foundation stone for the new court complex that will be built at Bannur Anemajalu near here on Saturday, November 10. He said that this is the cornerstone for making Puttur as the district headquarters also.
Receiving the felicitation by the lawyers at the stage programme, that was held at Parashara auditorium, after the foundation stone laying ceremony, justice Nazeer, who spoke in Tulu language, said, "Puttur court is getting a good building. It is really happy news that the court is being shifted to a new building,"
Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, chief judge of Karnataka high court, who presided over the function, said, "The lawyers should pay attention towards converting Puttur as a model town."
The chief guest of the function, justice B V Nagarathna, judge of the high court, said, "Good day has arrived in Puttur as the foundation stone for the court building is laid on the auspicious time of Deepavali. Puttur will develop due to this."
High court judges John Michael D'Cunha and Mohammed Nawaz, K M Nataraj, additional solicitor general of India extended their warm greetings on the occasion. Kadloor Satyanarayana Acharya, district chief justice, P P Hegde, Mahabala Gowda A, Krishna Prasad Rai K, Deepak Boluvaru and Kumarnath S were present.
Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Sanjeev Matandur, MLA an d Shakuntala Shetty, former MLA, were present at the foundation stone laying ceremony. Bhaskar Kodimbala welcomed the gathering. Mahesh Kaje rendered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Durgaprasad Rai and Surya Narayana.
