Mangaluru, Nov 9: “Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament (MP) Nalin Kumar Kateel has shown low level culture by reacting that the state chief minister is neither male nor female,” said Dakshina Kannada district JDS president Akshith Suvarna.
He was reacting to the statement made by MP Nail Kumar earlier concerning the celebration Tipu Jayanti in the state.
“Chief minister Kumaraswamy had not objected when the then Congress government started celebrating Tipu Jayanti. The current Congress-JDS government is continuing the programme started by the previous government. It is a complete government programme. Where was Nalin Kumar Kateel when BJP’s Yeddyurappa and Jagadish Shettar were celebrating with Tipu’s costumes and sword?”
“Chief minister is not taking part in Jayanti programme because of his ill health. But he is extending his complete cooperation for the programme. BJP MP is making that as the subject and insulting the chief minister of the state which is condemnable,” he added.
“The MP, who has not given any contribution to his constituency during his two terms, had gone to set fire to the district. There is no need to learn any lesson for the chief minister from him. The MP could not complete at least the national highway work even after several years. The MP should first show that he is a man by completing such works on time. Instead of that, resorting to such low level politics is not right,” he said.
“There are many things that the MP, who has contributed nothing to the district, can learn from chief minister Kumaraswamy. The MP should apologise for his statement such as this against CM Kumaraswamy who is concerned about poor farmers and the downtrodden. Violent protests will be held against him if otherwise,” warned Akshith Suvarna.
