Kundapur, Nov 17: The union government has undertaken several projects to improve the living standards of citizens across the country. The projects would be better implemented if genuine beneficiaries benefit from these schemes such as National Employment Guarantee Scheme, and Grameen Arogya Abhiyan, said Dr V S Acharya state home minister. He was speaking at the Bharat Nirman information and publicity campaign, held at Gandhi Maidan on Sunday November 16.
Raju Poojary, president, Udupi zilla panchayat, presided over the programme. MLAs Halady Srinivas Shetty and Lalaji R Mendon, MLC K Pratapchandra Shetty, Raju Devadiga, president, taluk panchayat, and Mohandas Shetty, municipal councillor, were present on the dais.
N Nagendraswamy welcomed the gathering. Frank Noronha, additional director, Bangalore Press Information Bureau (PIB), delivered the introductory address. Natasha D’Souza, joint director, PIB, presented mementoes to all the guests. T B Nanjundaswamy, assistant director, PIB, proposed the vote of thanks and Ashok Bisavalli compered the programme.
