Bengaluru, Nov 7: Apparently elated at the coalition's superlative performance in the just-concluded bypoll, former chief minister, leader of Congress Legislature Party and chairman of coalition's coordination committee, Siddaramaiah, exuded confidence of the coalition winning at least 20 out of the 28 Lok Sabha (LS) seats in the state during the next year's Lok Sabha election.
Siddaramaiah said that the coalition arrangement will continue for the Lok Sabha election and will register an impressive performance.
Siddaramaiah is naturally very happy at the way results have turned out and the way his hard work has paid off. The coalition won four constituencies, Mandya, Ramanagara, Ballari and Jamkhandi out of five constituencies which went to the bypoll. Siddaramaiah had widely campaigned for the coalition candidates in all the constituencies. Shivamogga Lok Sabha seat happens to be the only one the coalition lost, where former Bangarappa's son and JD(S) leader, Madhu Bangarappa, had been fielded, which went to the BJP.
