Mangaluru, Nov 2: The valedictory ceremony of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week – 2018’ organised by Airports Authority of India at Mangaluru International Airport was held on November 2.
Presiding over the programme, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax (Mangaluru) Narottam Mishra spoke on how vigilance plays the vital role in protecting the honest.
“Vigilance should be viewed in a positive angle, rather than punitive angle,” he said. Mishra also spoke on digitization being the need of the hour to expand the reach of vigilance to common man.
Prizes were distributed to the winners and participants of various programmes held as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week.
The Week stared on October 29, with the inauguration of Integrity Club at Kendriya Vidyalaya. Various competitions such as essay, elocution, painting and slogan writing were arranged at Mangaluru International Airport to promote the understanding of vigilance among the passengers, staff and their children. The central theme of the competitions was “Eradicate Corruption – Build a New India.”
A customer grievance redressal camp was organised by AAI and presided over by the Airport Director for immersive interaction and grievance redress with various airlines and other concessionaires at Mangaluru International Airport.
