Bengaluru, Nov 2: Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Belagavi Congress leader and a strong supporter of Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar, both of whom have a running feud with the Jarkiholi brothers, has been replaced by KPCC secretary Dr Pushpa Amarnath as the Karnataka Mahila Congress chief.
The appointment has been announced by All India Congress Committee taking most of the State Congress leaders by surprise.
The change of guard termed as routine as Hebbalkar, who had a stormy battle with the Jarkiholi brothers of Belagavi in the last couple of months, completed more than three years in office.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi has approved the name of Dr B Pushpa Amarnath as president of Karnataka Mahila Congress,” said a press release issued by the AICC.
Dr Pushpa hails from Mysuru and was the former president of the Mysuru zilla panchayat. Now, she is the member of the ZP from Dharmapura constituency in Hunsur taluk of Mysuru district. She served as the general secretary of the state Congress women’s wing.
